“RECORDAR” Performance and ephemeral urban painting

A unique event will be taking place this coming Saturday, 1st October, at 10am in the Plaça Comercial in the Born.

The Born Comerç, want to remember… to remember the 465,000 or more Spanish Republicans who went into exile between 1936 and 1939. The artist Jorge Rodríguez-Gerada, the son and grandson of exiles, will be using state-of-the-art GPS technology to trace the outline of an image on the ground in the Plaça Comercial. Once the image has been completed, we’ll invite you to fill it in with a non-toxic chalk-based paint specially developed for this date with history. At the end of the day, we all make history.

At the Barcelona Shopping Line we invite you to take part in this activity where past and future come together on the streets of Barcelona.
