Santa Eulalia celebrates its 180th anniversary with an exhibition about the golden age of haute couture
In Barcelona, there’s a meeting point for fashion lovers. It’s called Santa Eulalia and has been located at Passeig de Gràcia 93, since 1944.
In 1926, Santa Eulalia was the first shop in Barcelona to organise fashion shows and its windows displayed the most exclusive dresses and accessories that set the trends of the day.
This year Santa Eulalia is marking its 180th anniversary with a free exhibition at the Palau Robert to celebrate this remarkable achievement. It will run until 22nd January 2023.
A fascinating journey through the 180-year history of Santa Eulalia, featuring 40 designs chosen from over 500 items spanning the period 1930 to 1990, as well as photographs and period posters. The pieces on display belong to Santa Eulalia’s historical archive and museums and foundations, including the Museu del Disseny in Barcelona (DHUB), the Museo del Vestido in Madrid, the Museu Tèxtil in Terrassa and the Fundación Antoni de Montpalau.
Don’t miss the opportunity to travel back in time and discover the Spanish home of haute couture on the 180th anniversary of Santa Eulalia.
