The Gold Fava de Cacau Award goes to the Pastisseria Escribà
The town of Sant Vicenç dels Horts has just hosted the 6th International Patisserie Festival, which brings together some of the most illustrious pastry chefs and confectioners from around the world, with representatives from Italy, Portugal, Armenia and Ecuador, as well as Catalonia and the rest of Spain. The winners of the Fava de Cacau awards – which go to the 50 top patisseries in Catalonia – were announced during the event.
The Pastisseria Escribà won the award for the most innovative patisserie because “for more than 116 years, it has understood making cakes and pastries as something trailblazing and groundbreaking, without forgetting the sweet traditions rooted in our culture.
Since 1906, this historic Barcelona patisserie has defined itself as follows: “we don’t only create cakes, we create dreams”. This gives us an idea of its philosophy and the special sweet delicacies that emerge from its ovens and are sold in its shops at 546 Gran Via de les Corts Catalans and inside the spectacular modernista building at 83 Rambla dels Flors.
