Óptica Florit was founded in 1915 in the centre of Barcelona, on Carrer Petritxol. Years later, Josep Serra moved the business to its current premises at 262 Carrer Diputació, an iconic location between Passeig de Gràcia and Carrer Pau Clarís. The business has passed from generation to generation to become one of the most firmly rooted businesses in the history of Barcelona. It retains all the charm it had at the beginning of the last century, with its typical Catalan vaulted ceiling, encaustic-tile floors and vintage furniture, some of it dating from the middle of the last century.

Florit has recently added a new collection of its own eyewear, all designed in Barcelona. The brand image is reminiscent of art nouveau and the broken-tile, or trencadís, mosaics of the beginning of the last century. The opticians also sell many other eyewear brands made in Barcelona, which make it something truly unique.
