Pilma embarks on its journey of solidarity

From 30th November 2015 until 29th February 2016, 1% of all sales on travel goods (Rimowa, Piquadro, Hartmann, Bric’s, Porsche Design, Lipault, Tumi and Lautem) sold at the Pilma stores in Barcelona and Madrid will be donated to the committee of UNHCR Spain in its aid programme for Syrian refugees in the countries around the region and as they travel through Europe. This is particularly important now that winter is here and the refugees are facing even harsher conditions.

Over this three-month period, Pilma hopes to collect at least 10,000 euros. According to estimated figures provided by the UNHCR, this amount will help meet the needs of more than 600 refugees and:

– Provide 100 refugee families with a kit containing five thermal blankets, one insulated plastic tarpaulin, one kerosene jerry can, one water jerry can and a stove.

–  Provide 1,136 refugees with special thermal blankets.

–  Provide 29 shelters, tents or urban plots with thermal insulation.

Travel is one of the most enriching experiences human beings can enjoy but when hundreds of thousands of people have to embark on the saddest journey of their lives, all these things become meaningless. As a symbol of these displaced people, Pilma is displaying a 2-metre-high replica of the Topas suitcase by the iconic brand Rimowa at its store on the Avinguda Diagonal.
